Portrait Session || Fort Collins, Colorado
Making portraits of people is my passion. The core of our business is photographing weddings because we love love, and there's just something amazingly special about getting to be a part of a couple's wedding day - but I originally started photographing as an art form because I love photographing people. I love making honest portraits of people, bringing out their personalities, quirks, strengths and passions.
It's special when I meet models who are not only local to Fort Collins, but who are also kind and generous and talented and funny - which describes Jesse to a T. We met up for the first time at Little Bird Bakeshop (one of my absolute favorite local businesses!), and had coffee with our little ones, chatting about life and work and what brought us to this point in our lives. We planned our first photo session together, and we met up a few weeks later and did our first small shoot around Old Town.
I love working with models who have a sense of creativity of their own, and when the shoot becomes a collaboration. When we're photographing weddings, engagements, and couples sessions, there's a lot of directing that goes on behind the scenes, even the "unposed" photos are usually captured with quite a bit of direction on my part- which is why it's good to get photographed by a professional, but working with other creatives I get to work in a different manner- I am able to photograph the creative poses and looks that the model brings to the session, and our ideas build off each other's as the shoot progresses.
Jesse is an incredible woman - she's a fitness model, and loves the outdoors and living in Colorado, taking advantage of all this state has to offer. She's just the sweetest human being you'll ever meet, and I'm already looking forward to our next session together.
